Growth, run for one business at a time
My first retainer was
kr 50,000 a month
From the first month. One client, a software company, paid by bank transfer.
I have done that once. Once is not a system, so I am not going to call it one. What is on this page is exactly what I did, what it was worth, and the terms I will do it on again — for one or two owners at a time.
What is confirmed
- Client
- One. A software company.
- The work
- Coaching, marketing and outreach — the growth side of the business.
- The retainer
- kr 50,000 a month, from the first month
- Paid
- By completed bank transfer. I can show the transfers.
- Ran for
- [PERIOD]
One client. That is the whole of the proof, and the front page sets out what it does not cover.
The method, such as it is
Here is exactly what I did
Three parts. None of them clever.
Went and found them
No audience, no inbound, no funnel. Business owners, written to one at a time, with a question about their business instead of a pitch. Most said nothing back. That is the job — it is a numbers game played one message at a time, and the person who keeps sending them wins it.
Did the work before the fee
Instead of a sales call, a short piece of real work on the real business, done together over about a week. By the end of it there is something in the owner's hands that works. Nobody had to take my word for anything, which is the only reason a first retainer can open at a serious number.
Then ran the growth side
Coaching the owner, the marketing, the outreach — the work itself, every week, not advice on a slide. That is what the retainer bought, and it is what it would buy again.
An owner will pay a salary for an operator. Very few people pay a salary for opinions.
That is my reading of why the first retainer opened where it did rather than at a junior number, and it is a reading rather than a finding. The price was for running the thing, not for talking about it.
Fit
This is for a particular kind of business
This is for
- A business that already sells something and already has customers. Growth is the job here, not invention.
- An owner who can decide alone, in one conversation, without a committee behind them.
- The stage after word of mouth stops working and before a marketing department makes sense.
- Work that is happy being done in public: offers, outreach, follow-up, the boring middle of a funnel where most of the money actually is.
This is not for
- Anyone looking for a course, a community or a weekly group call. There is none of that here and none planned.
- Pre-revenue ideas. There is nothing to grow yet, so I would be guessing, and guessing is not worth a retainer.
- Anyone expecting the figure above to reappear in their own business. It was one engagement, in one company, over [PERIOD]. It is a fact about me, not a projection about anybody else.
The terms
How the work runs
Two at a time
Because it is me doing it, and not a team with my name over the door. When both slots are taken, the honest answer is a waiting list, and that is what will be said.
A month at a time
[FEE] a month, agreed in writing before anything starts, and either of us can stop at the end of any month. A retainer that needs a contract to hold it in place has already stopped working.
It starts with the week of work
Before money changes hands there is the short piece of real work described above. It is how both of us find out whether this is worth doing, and it is the same thing I did with the client at the top of this page.
I do it myself
No account manager, no juniors, nothing subcontracted under my name. If that ever changes it will be said out loud, here, on this page.
What I will not promise
No revenue figure, no timeline, nothing promised about the outcome. Nobody selling growth honestly hands those out, and the people who do are selling something else. What is promised is the work every week and a straight answer about whether it is moving — including the version of that answer where it is not moving and we stop.
Straight answers
Questions worth asking
Only one client at that number?
Yes. One client, at that rate, from the first month, plus referrals out of it that have not been counted. Anyone asking that is asking exactly the right question, and the honest answer is that once is once. It is also why there is no named system here and nothing being sold as repeatable.
What does it cost?
[FEE] a month, agreed in writing before anything starts. No set-up fee, no percentage of ad spend, nothing that renews on its own.
What happens on a first call?
A conversation about the business, then either the week of work or a straight no. There is no second call whose job is to sell the first one.
Coaching, or done for me?
Both, and the split is agreed at the start. Some owners want the outreach run for them; some want to learn to run it and keep it. The fee is the same either way because the hours are.
Will this work for my business?
Unknown, and anybody answering that before looking at the business is guessing. The week of work exists so that question gets answered with evidence instead of with a sales call.
Is this the same thing as the AI implementation work?
No, and the front page keeps them apart for a reason. This is the growth side of a business run by a person. The AI work is putting an agent into a company, and nothing has been installed for a paying client yet, so nothing on this page is evidence for that one.
